Megaman Vs. Bass

  As the glowing energy bullet hits my chest, I once again taste bitter defeat. How can this be? I'm more advanced in every way. My shots fire faster. My speed is unrivaled. I was built to kill.  But somehow, he always succeeds. Why? He was never meant for combat. His design is primitive when compared to mine. His buster a mere pea shooter. His cyan armor is frail and dull when in the presence of my magnificent, black plating. I remove my helmet and look at the damage done to my previously flawless body. My wiring now fully exposed, I feel vulnerable. At any moment he could end my life, putting my prime objective to a permanent halt. One more shot is all it would take. I look up at him as he stares at me with a sort of sadness. His eyes were full of what could easily be mistaken for human emotion, but we were machines. Nothing more. He extends his hand in a display of sympathy. I loathe him more than ever.

He begins"Bass, please..." I don't let him finish.

  With all of my remaining energy, I deliver a powerful kick to his chest. His small body flies across the room and slams into the hard metal wall. His helmet now has a large crack in it. I get to my feet and wipe the oil from my mouth. We stare at each other for an eternity. No more words are exchanged. I take my leave. There is a loud whirring noise as I end up next to the only person who can fill me with as much rage as Rock can. He stands there shaking his head. A look of disappointment covers his wrinkled face, but I can see a small grin form underneath his gray mustache.

"Failed again, I see?"

  I walk away. The only thought in my mind is of vengeance.
